New luxury resort to open on Hamilton Island in 2025

Accepting bookings from May 1, 2025, the Whitsundays’ newest hotel, ‘The Sundays’, is set to offer 59 family-friendly suites on Catseye Beach, situated in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.

Designed with calm, coastal tones, guests can choose between balcony, terrace or interconnecting family rooms, with Sundays Restaurant and Bar serving the regions finest produce, prepared by critically acclaimed culinary duo Josh and Julie Niland.

"The vision behind The Sundays reflects so much of what I value – bringing people together to create memories in beautiful surroundings. We can’t wait to introduce a dining experience that feels connected to the island and its incredible natural environment," said Mr. Niland.

Designed by the team responsible for ‘adult only’ resort, Qualia, The Sundays has been curated with children in mind, allowing relaxation in a luxury setting, with a yoga deck, water’s edge pool, gym, spa and ‘Clown Fish Kids Club’.

“The Sundays marks a new era for Hamilton Island,” says Pete Brulisauer, CEO of Hamilton Island.

“We have listened to our guests and crafted a place that combines luxury with contemporary design focus while offering relaxation and adventure, amidst the stunning backdrop of the Great Barrier Reef.”
