Google TV To Get Major Updates!!

Google’s Android TV software may be lagging and lacking updates in recent years, however a new reports claim that Google is set to introduce ground-breaking speeds and a host of major, new features to Android TV and Google TV devices.

According to Protocol, Google is incorporating the Wear Operating System (OS), currently used in Smart Watches and other wearable devices, to Android TV, meaning users can immerse themselves in interactive workouts on the TV and monitor their heart rate and other statistics on the screen . Those who are keen on health and fitness will be pleased to hear that Google is introducing these features in 2023.

In 2024, Google is slated to offer an improved integration of Android TV with its Smart Home Products, providig users with Smart Home controls on their Google TV and Android TV devices, complete with numerous, new features, including the ability to watch security camera footage without interrupting their chosen tv program.

Fortunately users won’t have to wait for updates, with many coming later this year. Reportedly, Nest Speakers will turn into wireless speakers for Android TV and Google TV devices, meaning improved audio experiences.

Google also hopes to incorporate this feature with third-party audio hardware, as well as adding Fast Pair to its Pixel Buds, enabling an easy wireless connection with Android TV devices.

Users will also be pleased know that whilst Google TV has suffered performance issues such as slow speeds and low storage, Google has announced imminent changes that will solve these issues and enhance user experience.

Google’s blog post suggets that from the Google TV home screen, “For You” tab and “Live View”, to switching kids’ profiles, Google TV will be faster in every fascet.

“From the moment you turn on a Google TV device, the home screen will start up and load faster, getting you to your shows as quickly as possible,” Geek Review Reporter, Cory Gunther, claims.

“It sounds like everything from navigation, scrolling, switching tabs, live view, and more all received improvements in speed, performance, and animations,” Mr. Gunther said.

According to Mr. Gunther, Google has announced that the software uses less RAM, enabling more stable streaming.

Google has also added a “Free up storage” option, allowing users to clear the cache and uninstall unused apps or streaming services.

Finally, an update enabling Google TV to automatically free up space in the background, will hopefully prevent those pesky storage errors.
