Police Renew Search For Fugitive After 7 Year Hunt!!
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have launched a fresh appeal for information after an Irish National failed to appear in court on drugs charges, more than 7 years ago.
Paul Casey, 43, was arrested in Coogee in March 2013, after he was allegedly found in possession of 750g of Methyl Enedioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA) and $40,000 cash.
Mr. Casey was charged with several offences, including the supply and possession of a prohibited substance, and charges relating to the proceeds of a crime.
A warrant was later issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in Downing Central District Court in March 2015. Mr. Casey has since eluded police and is considered a dangerous fugitive.
AFP Sergeant, Daniel Quade, has urged the public to come forward with any information that could bring Mr Casey back into police custody.
“Anyone who has information about Mr Casey’s whereabouts is urged to contact the AFP so we can remove him from the community and have him face court,” he said.
Mr. Casey was last seen in Eastern Sydney and on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, and detectives believe he may be using fake identification for work as well as having multiple bank accounts under various aliases.
Mr. Casey is sought by the Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, a department of the AFP dedicated to the pursuit of criminals who are wanted in relation to serious crimes such as drug trafficking, child exploitation, murder, sexual offences and financial crimes.
If Mr. Casey is apprehended and found guilty, he could face a sentence of two years to life imprisonment.
Anyone who has any information on Mr Casey should contact 131 AFP or Crime Stoppers, either via 1800 333 000 or through the Crime Stoppers website.
